FUEL SPILL OIL WATER SEPARATORS

High Grade Stainless Steel Separators

Skid-Mounted Stainless Steel Systems

Freytech skid-mounted fuel spill oil water separators are designed for facilities where accidental fuel or oil spills can overwhelm conventional oil water separator systems. The complete above ground system incorporates the stainless steel ecoTop Oil Water Separator with additional spill-control components to divert concentrated fuel or oil before it enters the separator, allowing the system to continue treating the remaining wastewater stream effectively.

The ecoTop Oil Water Separator is manufactured from high-grade stainless steel and achieves below 5 parts per million (PPM) oil outlet concentrations when separating free, non-emulsified oil. With the optional built-in ecoSorp, it achieves 0.1 PPM oil outlet concetrations even when dealing with trace amounts of mechanically or chemically emulsified oil. Freytech guarantees this performance in writing.

Most conventional oil water separators are overwhelmed even when only a few gallons of fuel or oil enter the system during catastrophic fuel/oil spill events. This can result in oil passing downstream and potentially contaminating surface water, groundwater or surrounding soil. Freytech skid-mounted systems can be provided with an upstream oil draw off system designed to divert concentrated fuel or oil during these spill events before the remaining wastewater enters the ecoTop separator.

Proven for Large Industrial Facilities

A leading U.S. automobile and truck manufacturer has specified Freytech skid-mounted Oil Water Separator systems for use at numerous manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. These systems provide facilities with a compact, above-ground solution for treating oily wastewater while also providing additional protection against accidental fuel spill events.

Outstanding Oil Skimmer Technology provides 99.7% pure separated, skimmed oil with only 0.3% water content.

Complete Skid-Mounted System

The skid-mounted configuration combines the ecoTop Oil Water Separator with the components necessary to provide a complete turnkey treatment system. The system is assembled on a common skid for easier installation and can be configured according to the requirements of the site and expected wastewater flow.

Each ecoTop model comes with a standard manual oil drain port or can be provided with Freytech’s Automatic Oil Draw Off Device (“ADD”) oil skimmer option.

With the ADD skimmer, oil separated inside the OWS is mechanically and automatically collected 24/7 and drained by gravity to a separate receptacle. The recovered oil will contain only 0.3% of water thus providing the operator with an outstanding 99.7% concentration of pure used oil.

This high concentration of recovered oil can significantly reduce the volume of oily wastewater that must be removed by septic truck or transported for additional wastewater treatment. The recovered oil may also be suitable for recycling, rather than being treated entirely as waste.

Protection During Fuel and Oil Spills

The upstream oil draw off system provides an additional level of protection for facilities where larger oil or fuel spills are possible. During a spill, fuel will overflow into a an ever empty compartment, while oily water continues flowing into the oil water separator.

Remaining wastewater passes through the ecoTop separator, where free oil is separated to below 5 PPM before discharge.

This combination provides a practical treatment solution for both normal oily wastewater flows and larger accidental fuel or oil spill events.

Optional ecoSorp Polishing System

When additional treatment is required, the ecoTop system can be provided with the optional downstream ecoSorp polishing system.

ecoSorp provides additional treatment for trace emulsified oil, including mechanical and chemical emulsions, and can reduce oil outlet concentrations to approximately 0.1 PPM.

The ecoSorp system is installed downstream of the primary Oil Water Separator and is available as an optional polishing stage where exceptionally low discharge concentrations are required.
